YEAR: 2024
SCOPE: 8 weeks
BRAND TARGET: Adobe
DISCIPLINES: Industrial Design, Brand Identity

The Adobe Nexus VR was a branding project aimed at designing a next-generation VR headset to launch in 2026. Drawing inspiration from Adobe's sleek and creative brand identity. I incorporated elements from their iconic triangular. 'A' logo, reforming how headsets typically look with applying a geometric "filter" on the form. My goal was to be bold and have fun.

Visually, Adobe's brand is known for having bold colors, dynamic patterns, and sleek visuals. Taking inspiration from the "A" in their logo, I went in a direction that evoked the same design and pushed a unique visual that would have Adobe stand out in the booming VR headset market.

The overall theme was messing with triangular patterns to create a unique, futuristic headset that followed the keywords bold, dynamic, and sleek. I was also inspired by creating a "pixel" affect with a series of triangles and referencing Adobe's well known application Photoshop and its usage of pixels. Lastly, since the target audience consists of a designers and artists, I was set on designing a VR pen that would make the experience feel more natural.

SPEAKERS & LENSES

CAMERAS & SENSORS
Front and side cameras providing an visual immersive experience alongside sensors for tracking and depth sensing.

BAND ADJUSTMENT & BATTERY
The headset's architecture provides a simple band around the head that can be adjusted from the back dial—no additional straps or wires needed. Additionally, the battery is located in the back of the headset to provide balance and stability,

HEAD CUSHION
The back cushion features polyurethane foam wrapped in nylon fabric, offering a soft, ergonomic curve that comfortably contours to the back of the head

Adobe VR Pen, a VR stylus designed for artists to replicate natural workflow in virtual reality. Similar to current digital pens, the VR stylus will include a dial that can be used to scroll through a color wheel or other tool options in the quick menu. The 2 action buttons and the dial can be customized according to the user's needs and their favorite keyboard shortcuts for a faster workflow. The VR Pen brings Adobe's pen tool to life and is the perfect accessory to the Adobe Nexus.
