OVERVIEW

The Coastal Caddy is a VSS-insulated water bottle designed for people on the go, combining hydration with a discreet storage compartment for everyday essentials. Whether commuting, hiking, or hitting the gym, it helps simplify life by keeping small valuables secure and easily accessible—all in one sleek, California-inspired design.

The Design Challenge: "Harnessing the benefits of VSS technology, design a product that can be used in the outdoors or in everyday life by the target consumer. Create something that makes their life easier and adds value to their experience. Focus on the user experience, not just the product."

For people on the go--whether commuting, hiking, or hitting the gym—keeping essentials like keys, cards, and earbuds secure can be a challenge.

How might we make everyday essentials more accessible and easy to carry in any situation?

DESIGN INSPIRATION

Camelbak is consistently inspired by the outdoors with nature green and natural hues. I thought of taking the inspo direction to "summers in California" picturing bright colors, curvature of ocean waves, and beach sunsets.

CADDY CONCEPT

Utilizing Camelbak's VSS technology, I wanted to add an additional, separate compartment at the bottom that can act as a small storage space. I was inspired by a travel edition makeup bag that has the bottom twist off, revealing your essentials. Since the space is limited and I didn't want to creat too large of a bottle, I decided the small compartment can store important essentials like credits cards, jewelry, earplugs, keys, etc.

My goal was to integrate extra storage into an everyday bottle for users who prefer to carry less.

Store Your Essentials

Bottom compartment is separated from your water where you can safely store away your important essentials. Store up to 3.75 inches of space, allowing for credit cards, jewelry, change, keys, earpods, etc!
