Assigned to pick an emergency situation and design a solution either for civilians or first responders and select a specific brand for the product.

60% of Women experience sexual harassment on a run regularly.

80% of women fear for their safety on most runs.
Even when an incident doesn't go beyond a verbal comment, the fear of esacalation--of a chain of events that leads to physical assault--weighs heavily. After experiencing a situation, 91% of women have changed their running behavior in some way as a result of harassment.

Even though the harassment can be brief, the impact it has on women is prolonged.

How might we design a device that can defend, deter, and protect?

Portability, Easy Access, Hands-Free, and Seamless Integration with Running Gear are required.

When ideating, I found myself coming up with wearables so as to not interfere while running. As I thought of Garmin and runners preferring to stay light with their gear, I decided to move forward with a wearable attached to your wrist that would later form into a running watch.
